It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Harold Perry “Andy” Andrews, a cherished friend, supporter, and advocate of Ella Sharp Museum. Andy passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 93.
For many years, Andy’s generosity, passion for the arts, and commitment to preserving and sharing wildlife art enriched not only our museum, but the entire Jackson community. His legacy lives on through the Andrews Gallery of Wildlife Art, a permanent exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum that showcases his remarkable collection of wildlife sculptures, paintings, and carvings.
What began as a personal passion for birds, hunting, and wildlife art grew into what his wife, Sandy, affectionately called his “Magnificent Obsession.” Andy’s dedication to collecting and supporting wildlife artists resulted in a collection that continues to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and wonder in visitors of all ages. Through the Andrews Gallery, generations to come will experience the beauty of the natural world through Andy’s eyes.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Andy’s children, grandchildren, family members, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we reflect on Andy’s extraordinary life, we are reminded that a legacy is not measured solely by accomplishments, but by the lives touched and the inspiration left behind. Andy’s legacy will continue to live on within the galleries of Ella Sharp Museum and in the hearts of all who knew him.
