The Artwork by Charlene Pung Private Gallery Reception

We’re pleased to welcome invited esteemed guests, donors, and members to a private gallery reception celebrating The Artwork of Charlene Pung.

Born and raised in Portland, Michigan, Charlene moved to Jackson in 1974. Though she spent many years working as a nurse, her passion for art remained constant throughout her life. Entirely self-taught, Charlene worked in several mediums, with watercolor being her favorite.

Her love of art brought her into the Jackson arts community, where she took classes at Ella Sharp Museum and became deeply involved with the Jackson Civic Art Association, now the Jackson Art Association. She eventually served as president and held several other board positions.

Charlene painted what she loved, from flowers to the subjects that inspired her, often working on a large scale that allowed her to focus on color and expression rather than fine details.

We look forward to gathering together to celebrate Charlene’s work and the lasting place she holds in Jackson’s artistic community.
