General F.A.Q.

How do I register for a camp, class, or workshop?
To register online, select the Summer Camp or Classes page under the Learn tab. Click on the price of the class or camp to register and complete the payment form online. To register by mail or in person, you can print the summer camp or class registration form available on this page, complete it, and either send by mail or bring in to the museum. Camp registration forms are also available at the front desk if you would like to register in person. Our front desk staff is also able to complete your registration over the phone.

What payment options are available?
You may pay with a credit card online or over the phone. If you wish to pay by mail, you may send a check. Please make checks payable to Ella Sharp Museum. Major credit cards, checks, and cash are all accepted at the front desk.

Can I register for a partial class?
Possibly. It depends on the nature of the class and instructor. Please contact Katie Gigliotti at!

What is the registration & payment deadline?
You must be registered and fully paid, no later than one week prior to the start date of your class.

What supplies will I need to bring?
Depending on the type of class you are taking, the instructor may provide a supply list. Any supplies not listed will be provided by the museum. On occasion there may be an additional supply fee to cover materials purchased by the instructor.

I am interested in teaching a class. How do I submit a class proposal?

Please fill out the Class Proposal form and submit it to Katie Gigliotti. You may send it via email to Alternatively you may fax or mail the form. Please call 517.787.2320 if you have any questions regarding your proposal.

Where do I go for classes?
Most of our classes are offered in one of our three art studios located in the education wing of the museum. There is a classroom entrance door to the studios located to the right of the main entrance. On occasion, workshops and classes are held in the Community Room or other location. The location is often listed next to the class description. If you need help locating the room when you arrive, please enter through the main entrance and stop by the front desk.

Are there scholarships available?
Yes. Any children wishing to attend classes or camps may qualify for a scholarship. Parents should fill out the appropriate scholarship application posted on this page, and submit no later than two weeks before the start date of the desired class or camp. We will contact you with a decision regarding your application one week after it has been submitted.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?
A full refund may be issued prior to the first day of class. After the first day, a refund will not be issued. However, a voucher may be applied to a different class, camp, or workshop. Under emergency or other significant circumstances please contact the museum at 517-787-2320.

How do I make a reservation for a school program (field trip, tour, etc.)?
Please contact Traie Shelhart by phone at 517.787.2320 or email to make a reservation. For optimal scheduling and availability, please contact the museum at least two weeks prior to your desired date.
